Growing up, people always called my father George. His first name is Wyatt (well, actually, that’s his middle name, but he’s always gone by that – he’s from the South), and folks just couldn’t remember that George was his last name. It always made me chuckle. On the phone with customer service he and I are always saying “yes, George is the last name.” Well, yesterday a man named Andy George was my host at a concert in MS. Do you know that I repeatedly called him George??? And from the stage, too! I suppose I just could not get it thought my head that someone might have George for a last name – I mean – that’s a first name.
So, we are going to try to meet up with George, I mean Andy, and his family today…..

That’s pretty funny!
…from another guy with three first names.
when I taught in St. Louis years ago, I had a student named George Georges. You might consider naming your new baby Georges George. Or just George George, and eliminate all the confusion. Unless Baby is a she.
